Tour de Data, hosted by STR Analytics and the STR family of companies, is making its next stop in San Francisco to take an in-depth look at the city’s hotel market and profitability.

BOULDER, Colorado—Tour de Data, hosted by STR Analytics and the STR family of companies, is making its next stop in San Francisco to take an in-depth look at the city’s hotel market and profitability.

Tour de Data events give attendees a look at the latest hotel industry trends and data as well as innovative ways to use it. The event will feature market-specific data, San Francisco-specific profitability data, transaction data, national industry overviews, innovative ways to benchmark and competitive set statistics.

The event will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. PST Thursday, April 18, at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. It will consist of presentations, a San Francisco expert panel discussion moderated by Jeff Higley, editorial director at HotelNewsNow.com, one-on-one conversations with the STR Analytics team and a cocktail networking event.

STR Analytics will give attendees a comprehensive look at the San Francisco market, presenting statistics such as:

  • There are six projects in the active pipeline with the majority of rooms entering the Upper Midscale Chain Scale Segment, which will increase the chain scale’s current room supply by 5.6 percent.
  • For the total year 2012, revenue per available room increased 12.7 percent, a metric that has seen steady growth over the past three years.
  • Eight hotel transactions occurred in the San Francisco/San Mateo Market in 2012, with an average price per room of $234,000.
  • Transient revenue increased 13.4 percent for the total year 2012, followed by a 9.6-percent increase in group revenue. Demand increased at a slower pace for transient and group segments, increasing 2.0 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively.
