CORAL GABLES, FL (June 19, 2009) – The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) has elected Josef Forstmayr President-elect for 2010 - 2012. Forstmayr is a director on the Jamaica Tourist Board and Managing Director at Round Hill Hotel & Villas in Jamaica. Before entering his two-year term, Josef will go through a one-year initiation as President-elect that will prepare him for his role as CHTA President.
Members of the CHTA Board of Directors elected Forstmayr as President-elect at the Annual General Meeting held on June 14, 2009 during the “Taste of The Caribbean” culinary competition which took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Forstmayr is the Second Vice President of CHTA and was voted Caribbean Hotelier of the Year in 2007. He was President of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association from June 2001 – 2003.
Forstmayr began his career in the fall of 1979 as Assistant Manager at Coconut Cove in Negril, later moving to the Tryall Golf and Beach Hotel as Resident Manager. He served as General Manager at the Trident Villas and Hotel in Port Antonio, Jamaica and then as Managing Director at Round Hill Hotel & Villas.
Forstmayr was born in Steyr, Austria. He attended the University of Salzburg where he studied Economic Sciences and Tourism and is fluent in four languages - German, English, French and Italian.
The elected officers who will work with Forstmayr during his presidency will be chosen at the Annual General Meeting in 2010.
