HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee—Mark V. Lomanno will become STR’s chief strategy officer effective June 15, 2011.

Mark Lomanno, CSO at STR

Lomanno served as STR’s chief executive officer since January and prior to that was president of the company for 12 years. His new role will involve helping STR further its expansion initiatives. “After wearing many hats for the past several years, I’m excited to focus my attention primarily on STR’s strategic growth. This role enables me to pursue STR’s evolution while spending more time with my family.”

“We’re happy to have Mark in this role, where he will utilize his extensive industry expertise and relationships to further define STR’s strategic direction,” said Randy Smith, STR’s co-founder and chairman. “Mark has been instrumental in growing STR to where it stands today as a key industry resource, and with the many growth opportunities the company faces, he will continue to play an integral role in its future.” Smith, who co-founded STR with his wife, Carolyn, in 1987, will continue his active involvement in the company.

“Mark has been a mentor to all of us at STR, and we are looking forward to his continued commitment to helping the company explore the multiple opportunities that lie ahead,” said Amanda Hite, STR’s president. “Having Mark focused on the company’s continued growth rather than the day-to-day operations and the gruelling presentation and travel schedule will maximize our efficiency in examining all of our opportunities.”
