HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee—STR announced today that Mark Lomanno is leaving the company effective October 31, 2011, after more than 20 years of service. Lomanno is leaving STR to pursue other passions, both in and out of the workplace, which will include helping to build and grow fledgling businesses.
Lomanno joined STR in 1990. His tenure included 12 years as president of the Hendersonville-based hotel-research firm.
“Mark’s contribution to the establishment of STR as a trusted industry resource is immeasurable,” said Randy Smith, STR’s co-founder and chairman. “Mark helped build a strong foundation for the company. We will miss what he brings to the table, and wish him nothing but the best in his new endeavors.”

Lomanno is also leaving his post as chairman of the board for STR Global, the London-based sister company of STR that provides global hotel data trends. Amanda Hite will assume the role of STR Global’s chairman effective October 31, 2011.
