LONDON—The Europe hotel development pipeline comprises 879 hotels totalling 141,062 rooms, according to the March 2012 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report.
Among the key markets in the region, Manchester, United Kingdom, reported the largest expected growth (+27.7 percent) if all 3,611 rooms in the total active pipeline open. Other markets that reported significant expected room growth include: Birmingham, U.K. (+19.3 percent with 2,043 rooms in the total active pipeline); Glasgow, U.K. (+14.9 percent with 1,105 rooms); Moscow, Russia (+14.7 percent with 5,392 rooms); and London, U.K. (+11.9 percent with 13,220 rooms).
