NASHVILLE, Tennessee—Despite a bumpy a road ahead, the U.S. hotel industry will recover, according to leaders from some of the top research firms in the country.

Mark Lomanno of Smith Travel Research, Mark Woodworth of PKF Hospitality Research and Scott Berman of PricewaterhouseCoopers expounded on that idea with detailed projections during the closing session of the Hotel Data Conference presented by Magnuson Hotels.

First up was Lomanno: “2009 is not positive, but when you look at 2010, we start getting signs from the general economy that conditions are going to start to improve,” he told attendees.
