BOULDER, Colorado—Tour de Data, hosted by STR Analytics and the STR family of companies, is an intimate event that gives attendees a look at the latest hotel industry data, as well as innovative ways to examine it.

The first Tour de Data will be held in Chicago on Friday, 2012 February 17.

At the event STR Analytics will analyze more in-depth statistics related to the Chicago market, such as group average daily rate in Chicago was US$10.98 higher than transient ADR for 2011. The event also will dive into Chicago pipeline statistics, such as there are 6,283 rooms currently in Chicago’s active pipeline.

“Tour de Data is a great opportunity for hoteliers to not only hear about trends happening both nationally and in their markets but also see new ways for data to be effectively used in day-to-day decision making,” said Carter Wilson, director at STR Analytics. “STR Analytics marries seasoned hospitality advisers with STR’s massive database, and through this we’ve come up with new ways of understanding how analytics can better a hotel’s competitive performance.”

Tour de Data events will be hosted in Chicago, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Atlanta during 2012. Each will offer market-specific data, national industry overviews, innovative ways to benchmark, unique data only released at events and the power comp-set series.

In conjunction with the live events, STR Analytics also will host various webinars throughout the year, discussing topics such as: How strong is your comp set?; Going beyond the average; and All projections are wrong.

Both the live events and webinars are free of charge. For more information on Tour de Data visit www.tourdedata.com.
