LONDON and HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee—The Americas region recorded positive results in the three key performance metrics for November 2012 when reported in U.S. dollars, according to data compiled by STR and STR Global.
The Americas region ended the month with a 1.8-percent increase in occupancy to 57.0 percent, a 3.6-percent gain in average daily rate to US$106.97 and a 5.4-percent increase in revenue per available room to US$60.99.
Los Angeles, California, rose 6.7 percent in occupancy to 70.7 percent, reporting the largest increase in that metric. New York, New York, followed with a 5.2-percent increase in occupancy to 87.0 percent.
Toronto, Canada (+11.5 percent to US$147.70), and Santiago, Chile (+11.2 percent to US$193.03) posted the largest ADR increases for the month.
Three markets experienced RevPAR increases of more than 10 percent: Los Angeles (+16.3 percent to US$92.69); Toronto (+14.5 percent to US$104.41); and Mexico City, Mexico (+11.6 percent to US$90.79).
Panama City, Panama, posted the largest decrease in all three key performance metrics. The market’s occupancy fell 13.8 percent to 48.2 percent, its ADR decreased 12.7 percent to US$110.48 and its RevPAR dropped 24.7 percent to US$53.28.
