BROOMFIELD, Colorado—With thousands of hotel properties and more than 1 million guestrooms in play once Marriott International’s planned acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is finalized, many are wondering what sort of impact and overlap issues will come to light. 
 
The following charts are searchable by segment and brand for all hotel properties open in Marriott and Starwood’s portfolios globally, according to STR Global Census data.

    What about Starwood's Design Hotels? That'd be brand 31. 4 currently on the SPG system and 288 total worldwide.

    Yes, Starwood's partnership with Design Hotels would add to the footprint. However, Starwood does not own the Design Hotels brand.
